Using "Zionism" in the Classroom



Each year, the Ministry of Education chooses a topic to be taught for the school year. This topic is presented through the various subjects studied in the curriculum. Next year, from September 1996, the topic will be "Zionism." This leads EFL teachers to the whole area of Content-Based Instruction which will undoubtedly be dealt with in your methodology course.

The Internet offers us endless opportunities to find information on the topic of "Zionism," to see what other teachers have done by finding their lesson plans, by corresponding with teacher trainees and teachers in Jewish schools all over the world to discover how they teach this topic in the classroom.

We hope that by participating in this project you will learn about the Internet, and having learned about the Internet, you will integrate your new-found knowledge into your future classroom.
